Cass Petrus has over 10 years of experience in software development, data science, and research. He works at Textio as a Senior Data Scientist where he builds models that help people improve the outcomes of their writing. Before that, he worked at Mailchimp as manager of their Data Science team.

He has experience building and maintaining predictive models for preventing abuse, Natural Language Processing, and marketing audience analysis. Daily, he uses Python to experiment with data and build applications, but he’s an expert with R, Google Cloud/AWS, MySQL & Postgres databases, Unix tools, and Elasticsearch.

He’s given presentations on Data Science & its applications to help fight abuse at M3AAWG, LinkedIn, and Mailchimp.

He has a Master of Science in Mathematics from University of Florida.
